Bell Springs Bath Bars $4.50
These bars of soap are made in my kitchen, much like our grandparents made soap. The differences are that I use purchased lye, which makes for more exacting recipes, and that I add vegetable and essential oils to enhance the bars of soap. At the end of the soapmaking process, there is no lye left. A reaction takes place between the lye and the oils (saponification) and what we know as modern soap is formed. These are tallow based soaps, hard and long lasting, with a nice lather. As these bars are hand made and hand cut, each batch will vary in color and each bar of soap will vary slightly in size. Bars are at least 5 ounces unless otherwise listed. Add water and enjoy.
Bell Springs. A soap with our name on it. Bright blue in color like the Texas summer skies, but with the scent of clear spring water.
Cedar Springs A cedar/lemon/lavender blend of essential oils makes this a lively smelling bar of soap. If I had to confess to a favorite soap, this would be the one.
Creekblossom A blend of orange blossom and orange leaf is the fragrance. The bar is melon colored, with leaves entwined with acorns along the top, and scalloped edges. An elegant bar and a full 5.5 ounces
Forest Spruce is scented with spruce essential oil. It is like walking through an evergreen forest.
Fruit Frenzy Imagine a fruit scented soap...mango, pineapple, orange...this is it! This soap has an especially creamy lather, and a truly wonderful fragrance
Honeysuckle This is a soap scented with a true honeysuckle scent, taking one back to childhood summers, sipping nectar. 4.25 oz.
Lavender Comfort is made with lavender and mint essential oils. The additive in this soap is comfrey root powder which has soothing properties.
Patchouli Ok...one may think of the 60's and tie-died shirts. But, even people who have never dreamed of being a hippie love the scent of this soap. 5 oz.
Peppermint Springs is made with ground peppermint and peppermint essential oil. It is as cooling as a Texas spring.
Southwest Sage A bar scented with white sage fragrance oil. Additives include jojoba meal and infusions of wild-crafted mullein.
Sweetgrass is a soap scented with sweetgrass fragrance oil. True sweetgrass smudges are used by Native Americans in purification ceremonies.
Very Berry. Take a walk in the country and smell the luscious scent of ripe blackberries. 3.5 oz.
Sunrise Shaving Soap is made with shea butter to moisturize the skin and increase the creamy lather. For convenience, this soap comes in a mug. Scents available include: cinnamon, sweetgrass, and suede. Boar bristle shaving brushes are available.
Scrubbing Bubba Hand Soap is a hand soap for the working person. Herbs and ground coffee give it scrubbing power to remove dirt and odors. Scented with cedar, it is a joy for gardeners, or others who work with their hands. Comes with a double sided boar bristle nail brush. With brush, $7.00.
Westcave A soap for a good cause. Fifty percent of the profits from this soap goes to Westcave Preserve. An earthy soap, scented with oakmoss and cedarwood.
Soap Beads. Round bars of soap with jojoba beads in them for "ex-foliating" (or just a nice bar for those who like "scrubby" bars in the shower). Three scents are available: Cucumber, with real cucumber
puree added, Berry patch, a combination of patchouli essential oil and berry fragrance oil, and Lemon, scented with lemon essential oil.
Baby Buttermilk Soap. The lather of this soap is especially creamy and gentle. It has buttermilk, and olive oil infused with calendula as part of its ingredients. Unscented. Comes in a bunny shape. 3 oz.
Texas Shaped Soaps Perfect for gift giving, these soaps are in the shape of the state of Texas, and come already gift packaged in a clear topped box with a silver cord. Check for availability of scents. Special orders upon request. 3 oz.
Orange. A citrus soap, with orange and grapefruit essential oils. Ground orange peel and oatmeal give it a slight texture for gentle exfoliation.
Brown Windsor. An OLD favorite. A spicy scent blend from the 1850's, with bergamot, cassia, caraway and other essential oils.
